UoL has organized its Annual Sports Gala 2013.
Patron UoL Mr. M. A. Raoof reiterated the opportunities provided by The University of Lahore for the holistic development of youngsters, through sporting events. Students from all departments participated in different competitions of Football, Cricket, Hockey, Rugby, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Riffle Shooting, Tug of War, Darts, Rowing, Body Building, Weight lifting, Athletics, Swimming, Rock Climbing, Chaati Race, Sack Race. Sports Gala has been organized with an objective to provide healthy activities to the students of UoL. The University of Lahore always encouraged the students to come forward and display their talent in a positive manner.

The University of Lahore organizes ‘1st International QEC Workshop on Quality Based Ranking’.
The University of Lahore has organized an International workshop on Quality Based Ranking which is first of its kind in Pakistan on 30th of April, 2013 at its Defence road campus in collaboration with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. All Universities from Gujrat (Punjab) to Southern regions of Pakistan were present at the event. The participants of the workshop have gained maximum benefit from it.
Members of QS Ms. Mandy Mok, Mr. Hung Truong, Mr. Yeo Kok Ann (Simon) and Mr. Samuel explained to participants that how can they better enhance their quality to get ranked in QS World Ranking. They also provided the details on how to stay connected with QS to keep their University’s data updated for a better rank.
The major objective of this assembly of leaders of Quality Enhancement in the Universities is to sit together, formulate strategies and direct their efforts towards further enhancement of academic quality. This workshop hopefully will further promote cooperation amongst various Higher Education Institutions in such areas as quality based ranking and related strategies, exchange of teachers and advancement of research.
The QS is an international organization which has its own measures of evaluating Universities for including them in the list of best Universities of the world. In 2007 The University of Lahore was the first University from Pakistan to be included in this list. Some more Universities of Pakistan have also been included in the last few years.
Director Quality Enhancement Cell, UoL Dr. M. Zulfiqar Ali Khan Thanked all the representatives of Universities, HEC and the members of QS World Ranking for being a part of this 1st QS based Ranking Workshop.

The University of Lahore (UOL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Higher Education Institute of Karwan (HEIK) of Kabul, Afghanistan. Chairman BOG UoL Mr. Awais Raoof and Director Public Relations of HEIK Mr. M. Zaher Akbari, signed the agreement on Wednesday 24th of April, 2013.
The signing of MOU will initiate and facilitate cooperation between the two Universities, and between the two countries. Within the framework of the fields of common interests, both Universities will encourage the exchange and mutual participation of scholars, academic staff and students in exhibitions, lectures, conferences, symposia & workshops. UOL and HEIK agreed on establishing joint research & publications in fields of common interest and encourage continuing educational and professional development for teachers, professors, and academic staff.
The University of Lahore being of the pioneers in the field of Quality Engineering Education will provide assistance and Faculty to establish the discipline at Higher Education Institute of Karwan. Chairman BOG UoL Mr Awais Raoof offered any kind of assistance to HEIK and to the youth of Afghanistan, in the field of Higher Education..
